Openserve Prepaid Fibre Competition - Terms & Conditions

1. Competition Rules:

• 1.1. This promotional competition (“Competition”) is organised and run by Openserve (Pty) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telkom SA SOC Ltd, duly registered in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa with registration number 2019/387229/07 and registered address at the Hub, Telkom Park, 61 Oak Avenue, Techno Park Highveld Centurion, Pretoria (“Openserve”).
• 1.2. By entering this Competition all Participants agree to abide by the following competition rules.

2. Competition Period:

• 2.1. Eligible entries will be all qualifying recharges made from 00:00 every Wednesday to 23:59 on the following Tuesday, with the weekly draw taking place on Thursdays.
• 2.2. The duration of the competition may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of Openserve. Any such amendment will be communicated via WhatsApp, X and Facebook Openserve Social Media pages and the Competition Period referenced in paragraph 2.1 above will be deemed extended accordingly.

3. Who is eligible to win a prize:

• 3.1. Persons (“Participants”) interested in entering the Competition must:
  • 3.1.1. be a natural person
  • 3.1.2. be 18 (eighteen) years or older
  • 3.1.3. have participated in the Competition in accordance with clause 4 below during the Competition Period
• 3.2. Employees of Openserve and their immediate families, advertising and promotion agencies, distribution partners, associated companies, and outlet owners and their immediate families and staff associated with this Competition are not allowed to enter the Competition.

4. To participate:

• 4.1. To enter the Competition and to be considered for a prize, Participants need to have an existing Openserve Prepaid Fibre line.
• 4.2. Participants will need to purchase Openserve Fibre Prepaid Recharge bundle via the Openserve Website or Openserve Connect App within the Competition Period.
  • 4.2.1 Unless communicated otherwise, only 30 days recharge vouchers are eligible for the competition prize.
• 4.3. All qualifying Participants will be entered into a lucky draw.
• 4.4. 10 lucky winners will be randomly selected by independent auditors.
• 4.5. The Competition is available to all regions.
• 4.6. Winners will be notified within 7 days of the end of the Competition Period.
• 4.7. Winners will be notified via the mobile number that is associated to the B-number of the Openserve Prepaid Fibre line.
• 4.8. If notifying by an Openserve call centre agent (telephonically), 3 attempts will be made to reach the winner. If the winner is not contactable, the prize will be forfeited.
• 4.9. If notifying electronically, winners will be notified via WhatsApp and receive the prize via WhatsApp (claim button vs sending voucher PIN). If claim button, prize must be claimed within 30 days.

5. Prizes and redemption – NETFLIX VOUCHERS:

• 5.1. There are 10 Netflix vouchers to the value of R150 each to be won.
• 5.2. Netflix vouchers were purchased online through platforms like Prepaid24 and eGifts24.
• 5.3. You can redeem your voucher by visiting www.netflix.com/za/redeem and entering the code.
• 5.4. The validity period of the voucher is determined by the 3rd party platform (Netflix). Winners are to ensure they abide by the redemption period stipulated by the 3rd party. Liability for non-redemption (resulting in the loss of the voucher value) within the stipulated period does not lie with Openserve.

6. General:

• 6.1. The prize is not transferable, cannot be deferred or exchanged or redeemed for cash and is not negotiable.
• 6.2. Openserve reserves the right to substitute any, or part of any, of the prize.
• 6.3. Winners will be randomly selected by independent auditors. Winners may be announced on the Openserve Facebook and Twitter social media pages and notified via Private Message and contacted by an Openserve representative. The Winners, by entering into the Competition, consent to the processing of their personal information for this purpose.
• 6.4. Should you be chosen as a winner, you can choose to decline to have your name, photographic images or video used for the purpose of marketing and publicity campaigns.
• 6.5. Openserve will not be responsible for any costs and/or expenses which a winner, or any participant, may incur during and for the purposes of entering into the Competition. Similarly, Openserve will not be responsible for charges associated with a winner accepting and/or using a prize.
• 6.6. All warranties or guarantees related to the prize remain with the manufacturer and will need to be managed directly by the winner with the manufacturer.
• 6.7. The rules of the Competition may be amended at any time during the Competition Period with reasonable notification. Once such amended rules are published, they will be deemed as accepted.
• 6.8. All rules will be interpreted and applied at the sole discretion of Openserve.
• 6.9. Participants take part in the Competition at their own risk and Openserve bears no responsibility for any loss, damage or harm suffered as a result of the participation and/or acceptance and/or use of a prize, or any aspect thereof.
• 6.10. Openserve reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time, if deemed necessary in its opinion or if circumstances arise that are outside of its control, and will not be liable to Participants in such event for any cause or action whatsoever.
• 6.11. Any violation or attempt to violate any of these rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor with or without notice.
• 6.12. The announcement of a winner does not constitute a ruling by Openserve that the winner has complied with these rules. Openserve may disqualify a participant after the announcement, should any rule transgressions be discovered. The winners will be randomly selected from all entries received within the Competition Period. The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• 6.13. The terms and conditions applicable to this Competition will be construed, interpreted and enforced in accordance with the applicable laws of the Republic of South Africa.
